Lecturing for NADFAS
We are always on the lookout for talented lecturers to join our directory of accredited lecturers from which our 350 Societies derive their lecture programmes.
So if you:
- lecture on a range of decorative or fine arts subjects;
- have three years or so experience of lecturing to adult audiences;
- are confident with audiences numbering 100 or more;
- have top quality slides or digital images to illustrate your lectures;
- and are prepared to go through our selection procedure (see below)
Contact us on 020 7430 0730 ext. 235 or email: EducationDirectory@nadfas.org.uk
NB: We can only accept lecturers who speak on the decorative and fine arts which we define as:
"The study of the history, social history, techniques and materials, design and manufacture and collections of: architecture, painting, prints, sculpture, textiles, furniture, furnishings, costume, glass and ceramics, enamel, metalwork, garden design and installation art; as well as the lives and influences of the artists, architects, craftsmen and patrons involved. Music, theatre and literature can play an important part in illustrating art."
The Application Process
- Chat with us about your subjects and lecturing experience.
- Complete an application form.
- We will take up references from people who can comment on your lecturing skills.
- Attend a NADFAS Society meeting so you can see what we're all about. We can arrange this.
- Tell us about an illustrated lecture (about an hour's length) you are giving to an audience of at least 50 people. We will arrange for a NADFAS observer to attend and report to us on your lecturing skills.
- All being well, we will invite you to visit NADFAS House in London to give a mini-lecture of 20 minutes, illustrated, to a panel of NADFAS representatives.
We look forward to hearing from you!
