The Royal Society of British Artists Annual Exhibition shows the best of contemporary representational painting, sculpture, printmaking and drawing. NADFAS has worked in partnership with the RBA to find the most outstanding work by final year A-level students from around the country and display it as part of the exhibition at the Mall Galleries in London.
In 2013 forty-two Societies submitted 277 digital images of 'A' level or equivalent artwork to be considered by the Royal Society of British Artists. The work selected by Societies consisted of portraits, landscapes and still-life or nature studies. The RBA President, James Horton and his fellow council members picked twenty-seven pieces which combined the highest levels of skill, expression and draughtsmanship.
The shortlisted students were all be given the title RBA Scholar while their work was on show alongside that of professional artists at the RBA's annual exhibtion in March this year. The NADFAS John Ingram Memorial Prize was awarded to one of the RBA Scholars.
